No. 1
No. 1 for Castlebar Town Council
Manifesto

Introduction

That we are living in challenging times is now well understood. Our economy which only a short year ago was so rich in many ways is now badly weakened. On a daily basis we listen to the sad news of jobs being lost, businesses struggling, our Health Services costing too much, our schools being too overcrowded and underfunded. Many sad spin offs result from these changes in our economy but one of the most saddening by far must be the sapping of confidence especially in the younger generation. It is for this reason that I have decided to stand for election to be the candidate of Hope for Castlebar to dwell on the positive issues in our time; to tackle the challenges and to work tirelessly to rebuild what we have lost. Together we can carry this torch through these troubled times and create a stronger Castlebar.

Ideology and progress

We need to listen to the people within the community and their individual and collective hopes and dreams their problems and grievances if we are to continue to foster and grow strong community values.
The participation in community activities through for example; sport for our young and active people, playgrounds for children, we need to be welcoming and provide helpful round the clock information for tourists and Castlebar based festivals, will all add to the general sense of community in our area.
Fostering community spirit and treasuring and caring for all our people is at the heart of the move we need to take forward together to develop the Hope and Peace and happiness we will receive from living in a harmonious integrated and efficiently run community.
WGiven the chance I will pledge my every effort to working tirelessly with all the people of the Castlebar electoral area. Furthermore my door is always open for anyone to come into me to share their views, ideas and problems and I will try my best to help them.
Thank you.

Job Creation

I have headed up a very successful Job Agency in Castlebar for many years now. The number of people seeking jobs and the number of employers seeking staff grow every year. Last year my agency won 2 awards in the UK for excellence in the field. In my agency we pride ourselves on excellence and plan to continue to provide an excellent service to job seekers and employers for many years in the future.
In 2009 because of the jobs situation in Ireland we have been busy negotiating arrangements with other similar agencies in the West and North West of Ireland to try to extend our jobs Data base in an effort to facilitate what we now see as the ‘new trend’ in the work profile requiring all job seekers to be ‘upwardly mobile’, to be flexible and prepared to travel both inside and outside of Ireland to where the job takes them.
WIn answer to our client’s needs and requests we have entered into talks and negotiations with job agencies throughout the EU, Canada and Australia leaving no avenue of possibility unchartered in an effort to secure employment and work contracts for our registered job seekers.
I feel that with my strong background in the area of Human Resources and my Qualifications in this field I have a lot to offer Castlebar Town Council and the people of Castlebar. If elected I will strive to make job creation and the resulting satisfaction and sense of achievement and pride that each individual enjoys from gainful employment a priority with Castlebar Town Council.

A strong family makes a strong community which makes way for a stronger Ireland.
